"Daddy, Daddy come and see my boat". The little boy was excited as he ran to find his father on the beach. They both headed back to the boating pond to see this wonderful sight. But the boat was nowhere to be seen. It had been stolen. A dark angry voice came and chastised the small boy, "how could you have been so stupid as to leave the boat unattended", "you deserve to have it stolen, you are irresponsible and it cost a lot of money".

The little boy wept and wept. He had suddenly realised that eventually all people have to die. "How could this be, he asked." "Please God, don't let me die, please don't let me have to die." He was desperate for an explanation and called for help, but even the dark angry person couldn't give a reason for this. Still sobbing, the little boy came to believe many years later, that death, among other things, was not to be discussed.

The little boy had left the ground many times before. Flying was fun, flying was everything to him. He would glide about in the clouds looking down at life below him, he was so happy. Out of the blue a tree appeared, it seemed to grasp at the little boy's wings and pull him down to the ground. "Don't get too ahead of yourself, boy," said the dark angry voice. "You're getting a bit big for your boots."

"Where's Judy? Where's Judy?" The little boy had returned from school, excited to be with his best friend. However, he suddenly felt very alone as the dark voices explained that the dog would not be coming back. "She was in trouble with the police." Said one of them. The little boy hid behind the door and wept and wept. But they were right, Judy never, ever came back.

The feeling of dread in the boy was strong now. Don't make a sound and perhaps no one would notice him. The loud noise preceded the wrath of the dark angry voice. "What lovely children" said the passerby. Now he was noticed. The attention was on him. He felt uncomfortably anxious yet again. "You do have such wonderfully well behaved children". It was a shame, he was quite and polite, he seemed to let himself down, "I don't know why, it was such a long time ago".
